Explore the area...
Rocklands can help your group locate area attractions, guide you toward public transport, and recommend activities off-site. Contact our office if you are travelling from overseas, or are unfamiliar with the Cape Town area. We are ready to welcome you!
The area around Rocklands Centre is alive with rare, protected, species. Boulders Beach, a short walk from the centre, is the only place in the world where you can swim with the African penguins! Fisherman's Beach is a quick walk down Rocklands Road. Local baboons also interest campers; as the baboons are frequent visitors to the campsite, be sure to have your camera on hand! After you've seen the area's animals, take some time to marvel at fynbos (fine bush), and the rest of the protected Cape Floral Kingdom spread across our site and surrounding hills.
Rocklands Centre is 3k from Simon's Town, a historic Navy town nestled along the coast. Simon's Town has been visited by the South African president and heads of state, summer tourists, and school-children. Guests often stroll along the road into the town, where they enjoy museums, the waterfront and beach, coffee shops, grocers, bakery, galleries, cafes, and more. A chemist and clinic are also in the town centre.
